On 29 June 2024 we held our first event in Brazil: a Charity Coffee and Yoga Morning run by Servir no Mundo in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. Everything raised on the day went to Projeto Arena Desvio, a football school for children in need.
On 29 June 2024 we held our first event in Brazil: a Charity Coffee and Yoga Morning run by Servir no Mundo in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. Everything raised on the day went to Projeto Arena Desvio, a football school for children in need.
The morning was about health and wellbeing, and about why supporting social projects matters. The futsal school, Desvio Arena, is based in São Gonçalo and offers a safe place where children build social skills, discipline and a sense of team — keeping them off the streets and giving them something healthy and worthwhile to do.
The breakfast was organised and prepared by Servir no Mundo volunteers. The yoga class was led by Bárbara, our co-founder and volunteer.
We were joined by the vegan candle makers The Alchemy Co, who gave every guest a candle to take home and donated all the profit from their sales during the event.
With everything raised at Coffee & Yoga we were able to sponsor nine children for a year at the football school. Alongside the annual fee, each of them received a kit and a pair of boots so they could take part in the classes.
